On April 16, 2011 the HSA held its second annual Greek Night in the Charles Commons Ballroom on the Johns Hopkins Homewood Campus. The event was a major success which attracted some 300 Johns Hopkins students as well as bringing in many of our loyal contacts and sponsors from Greektown and around Baltimore.
Although maintaining the traditions of the first Greek Night including food and dancing, this year’s big event also introduced live music performed by the Apollonia band as well as special performances by the Hellenic Golden Coins dance ensemble from St. Nicholas church. The catering was provided by the Acropolis Restaurant and proved to be very popular amongst the guests.
Because of the support provided to us by Mr. Aris Melissaratos and the Baltimore-Piraeus Sister City Committee, the HSA was able to host an event which displayed the many facets of Greek heritage in the best possible manner. Thanks to the wonderful songs of Maria Pearce and the amazing dances directed by Maria Kaimakis, every single guest had a great time. Doyeun Kim, a contributor to the Johns Hopkins Newsletter had an article about our 2nd Annual Greek Night published once more.
